"We are going to bat first. We have been doing that well in the last 2-3 games and we want to stick to that. The plan has been clear from the first game. Putting runs on the board and defending is something we have been wanting to do. It is a quick turnaround, one day gap between the games but the boys are professionals and are taking care of themselves. Same team."

"We weren't sure (whether to bat or bowl). Probably leaning towards batting. We haven't put hundred percent in all three departments. We are edging towards it. We can't win the series but we pulled one back after being 1-0 down, so we can take confidence from that and try to level the series. We are going with the same team."

We are underway at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. Marco Jansen takes the new ball for South Africa, while Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson get India up and running. Four for none, are India.

Sanju Samson has started to do Sanju Samson things. It has been all or nothing for him this series, but he's started to show all the signs again in Johannesburg. India are off to a good start again and after the first half of the powerplay, they are 30 for no loss.

Samson is looking in incredible touch here. He has gotten himself set to the bounce of the surface and is hitting it to all parts of Johannesburg. While his partner Abhishek Sharma, who was in the limelight for consistency, is off to a flier as well. India will be the happier side after the first five.

After Simlane endured a proper hammering in his first over, Sipamla gets rid of Abhishek Sharma to draw first blood for South Africa, and ends an excellent over. However, India are off to a sensational start, and have notched up 89 in eight overs as Tilak Varma has joined forces with Sanju Samson. 

Well, that’s yet another big over for India. Things are looking ominous for South Africa at the 11-over mark. Sanju Samson truly looks in the zone after two ducks and a hundred. At the other end, Tilak Varma has also raced away, having hit two fours and two sixes. Meanwhile, Tilak is down, while Simelane is too, and it is all chaos at the Wanderers.

The onslaught continues in Johannesburg. The Indian batters have not spared anyone, the six-hitting spree has continued. India have reached 199 for the loss of one wicket, and they still have six overs to go. Insane hitting. Scratch that, extraordinary stuff for the Indian batters.

The carnage does not seem like it is stopping anytime soon. This is now the highest partnership for any wicket for India against South Africa in T20 internationals, and there are four more overs to go. Things are looking scary for South Africa.

Two tons and two ducks for Samson in the series, and what a hundred it has been. India reached the 250-mark in 18 overs. Tilak Varma has also caught up with his partner, and it is back-to-back T20I hundreds for the 22-year-old. Entertaining innings, even better celebration. What a finish to the innings. 290 for the loss of one in 20 overs in front of a sell-out crowd. Even the South African fans have enjoyed this exhibition of batting. The Samson-Varma partnership is India's first-ever 200-run stand for any wicket in the format. Records galore in Johannesburg.

Records are sure meant to be broken, and if, and it is a big if, South Africa chase this down, there will be lyrical pieces on the chase.

What a peach! Arshdeep Singh, magnificient. Absolutely magnificient. The left-arm seamer sets up Hendricks beautifully as he sends one away, and then brings one back to hit the top of the stumps. South Africa in early trouble. With the high altitude and short boundary dimensions, India will be licking their lips with this start.

In a blink of an eye, South Africa are really struggling. They have now lost three in very quick time. It's all India at the moment, and the hosts are falling like a pack of cards. It gets better and better for Arshdeep Singh. And the last victim is Klaasen, who goes for a golden duck.

A shocking powerplay for South Africa. They have lost four wickets for not much on the board, chasing a mammoth target. Tristan Stubbs and David Miller have a lot of catching up to do. Never say never, but it feels like they have a few mountains to climb, and a few too many.

And that's the half-way mark, and South Africa have managed to score 73 for the loss of four wicket. Tristan Stubbs and David Miller have consolidated and stitched up a partnership, but not one that could win them the game, not one close.

And all of a sudden, South Africa have lost Tristan Stubbs as well as David Miller, and that's pretty much the game, despite Marco Jansen still at the crease. The hosts need 179 from 42, and the numbers say it all.

Another wicket down for India, and this time, Axar Patel gets into the scheme of things as Gerald Coetzee goes for 12. He's not done much in this game, and he strikes as soon as he's given an opportunity. India almost there, matter of time now.

India skipper Rohit Sharma and wife Ritika Sajdeh have been blessed with a baby boy. To add to the special news, Tilak's taken a blinder to add to a brilliant night. The visitors are one wicket away.

And that's the game. India win the series 3-1, and they have won 24 out of their 26 games this year. VVS Laxman must be a very happy man. Suryakumar Yadav must be a happy skipper. Sensational performances all around.

"Quite hard to be honest. Completely outplayed in all three aspects of the game. Have to give them credit, bat and ball they put us under pressure and it was tough for us to come back. Some honest reflections need to be done. Nowadays you can't be just hitting stumps, you need to bowl wide lines and certain plans you need to come up with. One or two we might miss but it's part of the growth for this team and in the long run as we build up to 2026, we can hopefully get it right."

He further added: "It's busy. As a team we will have a good reflection, as a white-ball team we have some time off, get stuck into some work and ultimately come back better players with better skills and with better execution. It's up to each individual as to where they want to go and where they want to invest in. Marco Jansen was incredible this series, Gerald Coetzee as well, it's not easy in the Highveld, the never-say-die attitude from them and that's the bits and pieces we can pick up and move forward as a team."

"There is no secret to adapting to the conditions and situations. Our plans were very clear. Last time when we came here, we played the same brand of cricket and wanted to continue that. The game today, we spoke about it and we wanted to follow those good habits. Didn't think about the results and it happened automatically."
