Wrestling Federation of India chief and Member of Parliament for Bharatiya Janata Party from Kaiserganj constituency Brij Bhushan Singh is reportedly planning to showcase his political power in the upcoming Ayodhya rally for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.

But the BJP unit in Ayodhya reportedly said that they plan to distance themselves from this rally slated on June 5.

Brij Bhushan is currently facing trouble due to the sexual harassment accusations made against him by several Indian wrestlers who are protesting in Delhi. Delhi Police has also filed two First Information Reports against the WFI chief. Since his arrest, Singh has been restricting himself from involving in politics. But it is reported that he had been touring various districts of Uttar Pradesh like?Gonda, Ayodhya, Bahraich and Basti.

Not just that, he has also reportedly invited people to attend the?Jan Chetna Maha Rally.

The Jan Chetna Maha Rally will be held at the Ram Katha Park in Ayodhya and it is reported that there will be sadhus as well as experts in law, education, and social work?invited from several states.

BJP's Ayodhya district president Sanjeev Singh reportedly said, "The BJP is not associated with the rally. We’ll participate only if the leadership asks us to. So far, we have received no such directions."

He also added, "It is not a political rally. At the grand rally, there will only be a discussion with sadhus and intellectuals on how to deal with those who misuse law to defame somebody."

According to reports, another senior BJp leader from Awadh said other party workers will not be attending the rally as Brij Bhushan is conducting the rally on his own capacity.

Reports suggest that close associates of Brij Bhushan support him and have claimed the sexual harassment accusations are false. One of them told the media, "Action provided under IPC Section 182 is insufficient. At the rally, a demand will be raised to amend the law and make the punishment in such cases severe." He also mentioned that it was a fraternity of sadhus who asked for the rally and Brij Bhushan was only making the arrangements done.

It is also reported that many BJP leaders are not comfortable with Brij Bhushan's decision of rallying, one of the leaders have told the media, "He is preparing to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections again. Hence, this rally can be seen as a damage-control exercise and an attempt to seek the support of the people and the sadhu community."
