Pushpa 2: The Rule Box Office Collection Day 1: Allu Arjun-Rashmika Mandanna Starrer Dethrones Jawan To Become Biggest Opener In Hindi?

Pushpa 2 reportedly collected Rs 165 crore net on day 1 in the theatres. The actioner earned Rs 10.1 crore in Telugu in Wednesday previews, which takes the total opening to Rs 175.1 crore.

Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule was released in theatres on Thursday, December 5 amidst huge fanfare. The sequel to 2021 blockbuster, Pushpa: The Rise, broke records to become the biggest opener of all time. Pushpa 2 reportedly collected Rs 165 crore net on day 1 in the theatres. The actioner earned Rs 10.1 crore in Telugu in Wednesday previews, which takes the total opening to Rs 175.1 crore.

Pushpa 2 minted Rs 95.1 crore in Telugu, Rs 67 crore in Hindi, Rs 7 crore in Tamil, Rs 5 crore in Malayalam and Rs 1 crore in Kannada. 

On day 1, the Allu Arjun starrer witnessed an overall occupancy of 82.66 % in Telugu. There were over 1500 shows in Hyderabad with over 94 % occupancy and over 1000 shows in Bengaluru with over 70 %occupancy. There was an occupancy of over 59% in Hindi language. The Delhi-NCR region had over 1700 shows with 61% occupancy while Mumbai region had over 1500 shows with around 57% occupancy.

It is the highest opener in Hindi and has surpassed the collection for Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, which made Rs 65.5 crore in Hindi on its opening day. The worldwide gross collection for Pushpa 2: The Rule is awaited. It is expected to cross Rs 300 crore globally.

With its Rs 175-crore opening, Pushpa 2 is on top of the all-time biggest openers list in India. Earlier, it was SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which collected Rs 133 crore net on its opening day, followed by Prabhas starrer Baahubali 2 with Rs 121 crore, and Yash's KGF 2 and Kalki 2898 AD which made Rs 116 crore and Rs 114 crore respectively on day 1. 

Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 also stars Fahadh Faasil in a key role. Anasuya Bharadwaj, Sunil, Jagapathi Babu, Rao Ramesh and Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari play pivotal roles.
