A total of INR 3,88,10,00,000 was spent on day 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction in Bengaluru on Saturday. 74 cricketers, including 20 overseas players, were picked by 10 franchises. But the day also witnessed auctioneer Hugh Edmeades collapse mid-way and Charu Sharma feeling in for him.
