Virat Kohli was retained by the Royal Challengers Bangalore however World Cup winner Josh Hazlewood was let go. Here's RCB's official released and retained list:
Another host of releases are Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga, who have been quite loyal to the RCB franchise over the years.
RCB recently Mayank Dagar from SunRisers Hyderabad, with all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed heading the other way as a part of the deal.
Among the host of retained players are captain Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Virat Kohli and all-rounder Will Jacks (who missed the entirety of the IPL 2023 due to injury), Rajat Patidar, Mohammed Siraj etc.
Despite their star power, RCB are yet to lift the IPL trophy since it's introduction in 2008 and have been runners-up three times.
