Back in August, Neeraj Chopra and Arshad Nadeem made history in the track and field arena by finishing one-two in the javelin throw at the World Championships.

“I felt good that Arshad threw well. We spoke and discussed how both our countries are growing now. Earlier there were European athletes but now we have reached their level,” Neeraj Chopra said post their World Championships heroics.

Neeraj Chopra and Arshad Nadeem share a 'unique' bond and it was well evident when the former posted a picture with the Indian javelin thrower and his coaches on social media.

The Pakistan javelin thrower too spoke about his mutual respect with his Indian counterpart. “Neeraj and I have a very healthy competition and we respect each other a lot. There is no Pakistan-India rivalry in a bad way. When we talk, we are just happy that both of us have come to the fore in a competition usually dominated by Europeans,” Arshad Nadeem was quoted as saying by PTI.

With the two ever so 'close' now, the Asian Games 2023 could present a great tactical battle between two juggernauts. Neeraj Chopra spoke about the 'India vs Pakistan' rivalry and how it could be blown up ahead of the Games.

“I feel at the Asian Games there will be more talk about India versus Pakistan, but I am just going to stay relaxed and healthy,” he said.

Neeraj Chopra and Arshad Nadeem will be action at the Games and with more eyeballs on the Indian, his Pakistani counterpart will be no less in grabbing his share too!
