Tan and Muralitharan eventually ended up winning the match?21-17, 18-21, 21-19 victory. A record now in women's badminton, the 211-shot rally is believed to be the longest-ever in the sport.

At the Korea Open in 2022, BWF officially registered a record when a women's doubles game produced 195 shots.
