1:00 PM: What Captains Said
Dean Elgar, South Africa Captain: We are?going to bat. The pitch appears to be intriguing. We're in a fantastic situation. You can't win a two-match series if you don't win the first one, and we've done that. The scoreboard begins at zero. That is something we are all aware of. Starting strong will be critical against this Indian team. Tristan Stubbs will make his debut in place of Temba. Ngidi replaces Coetzee, who is also injured. And?Maharaj also comes in.

Rohit Sharma, India Captain:?I would have also batted first. It appears to be an excellent pitch. We appreciate the difficulty of batting first on that surface, but there will be plenty in the pitch for the seamers, so maybe we can capitalise on it. It is critical to forget what has occurred in the past. We realise the significance of scoring runs and taking 20 wickets. It didn't happen in the first game, but we're optimistic about what we can do here. There are two changes. Jadeja returns in place of Ashwin. Shardul is out, and Mukesh Kumar takes his place.

12 PM: Weather Forecast
The weather in Newlands, Cape Town is expected to be pleasant for most of the day, with no precipitation disturbance. The match should not be interrupted due to any such activity. The weather for the next five days may be perfect for outdoor activities. On Wednesday morning, the temperature will be around 27 degrees Celsius, with no cloud covers in sight.

11:55 AM: Pitch Report
The pitch at Newlands in Cape Town offers a huge amount of assistance to seamers and both teams may go for a full-seam bowling attack in their playing XIs. The track has nothing for the spinners. Top-8 wicket-takers on this track are pace bowlers which says about the pitch it will be. Batting in the first innings could be difficult for either team as the fast bowlers may create mayhem on the first day.

11:45 AM: Head-To-Head Record
India have played South Africa 43 times in Test cricket and the Rainbow Nation have become victorious on 18 occasions whereas India have won only 15 times. 10 matches ended without results or drawn.

11:30 AM: Preview
The series was billed as India's final frontier - the only major Test-playing venue where the nation hasn't won a Test series yet. As fate and circumstances would have it, the frontier will remain unbreached, as India can only draw the series 1-1 from here on.

It is also a significant match for South Africa cricket as Dean Elgar, one of their foremost contemporary servants in the red-ball format, will retire after this Test. With Temba Bavuma suffering an injury during the first Test, Elgar will be the stand-in captain for this game and his team would like nothing more than to give him the perfect parting present - a series-sweeping win.?
