India Vs Australia, 2nd Test: McSweeney, Labuschagne Defy IND Bowlers After Starc's Six-For On Day 1
Australia ended Day 1 at 86 for 1 after bundling India out for 180 runs in the first innings of the Adelaide pink-ball Test on Friday (December 6, 2024). Nathan McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne were not out at 38 and 20, respectively when the stumps were drawn after 33 overs of play in Australia's first innings. The home side trail by 94 runs and have nine wickets in hand. Opener Usman Khawaja was the only Aussie batter to be dismissed, gone for 13 off the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah. Earlier, Mitchell Starc claimed career-best figures of 6 for 48 to spearhead the visitors' collapse in 44.1 overs. Nitish Kumar Reddy (43 off 54 balls) was the lone spark as India lost four and six wickets in the first and second sessions of the day respectively after the winning the toss and opting to bat.
