Pakistan cricketer Saim Ayub was again in the thick of things as he showed off his impressive fielding on Day 3 of the third and final Test match against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground. (AUS Vs PAK Scorecard | Cricket News)

In the second ball of the 65th over of the Aussie innings, Steve Smith came down the track to hit the ball over the covers, but could not time the delivery well. However, Smith did the clear the in-field area and Ayub managed to pull the ball clear of the boundary.

However, in order to stop the ball, Ayub slid in but while doing so, he managed to jam his bare knee in the outfield. The visuals was similar to the one back in the 2002/03 Ashes series wherein England pacer Simon Jones ruptured his ACL whilst attempting to stop the boundary at the Gabba in Brisbane.

However, in the case of Ayub, he managed to pull himself up and was quick to throw the ball back.

Ayub hasn't had the best of debuts so far in the SCG Test. In the first innings, he registered a duck off the bowling of Josh Hazlewood. And during fielding, he dropped a simple catch in the slips to hand David Warner a lifeline. He also dropped Mitchell Marsh's catch early on Day 3.
