Tamil Nadu Govt Holds 3rd Monsoon Medical Camp Across State

The Government of Tamil Nadu on Saturday held the third round of monsoon medical camps.

The Tamil Nadu government held medical camps at around 2,000 locations across the state.

These camps are part of the MK Stalin-led Tamil Nadu government's efforts to contain monsoon diseases like malaria, dengue, and viral fever.

The fourth and fifth rounds of camps would be held on November 14 and 15 respectively, reported ANI, adding that a total of five camps would be held in December.?

"The Greater Chennai Corporation is working on destroying dengue mosquitoes and spreading awareness among the people to ensure that there is no water stagnation near the households. In the monsoon season, fever, influenza, and many other infections see a rise. We have an adequate stock of medicines required for the treatment and are ready to face any challenges," said Health Minister Ma Subramanian.

Subramanian also announced the creation of 708 urban welfare centers along the lines of Delhi's mohalla clinics, reported ANI.

"In the first phase, 500 of them were inaugurated and the construction of more 152 urban welfare centers across Tamil Nadu is about to be completed. Besides this, 140 Urban Health Centers (UHC) are planned to be opened. The construction of the 100-bed Urban Community Center in Shenoy Nagar at a cost of Rs 13 crore will be completed within two months. They will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister M K Stalin," reported ANI.
