Rain In Several Parts Of Rajasthan Brings Down Mercury

With monsoon approaching the state, light to moderate rain on Sunday brought down the mercury in several parts of Rajasthan, the weather office said.

In the next three days, a few places in Kota and Udaipur and parts of southeast Rajasthan are likely to receive heavy rainfall, while light to moderate rain is predicted for the northern parts of west Rajasthan, the spokesperson said.

On the other hand, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu and Bikaner districts of northwest Rajasthan are likely to witness humid weather, with the maximum temperature reaching 40-42 degrees Celsius, he added.

In the past 24 hours till 8.30 am on Sunday morning, Ladpura-Bijolia in Kota was the wettest with 9.9 cm of rainfall, followed by 9 cm rainfall in Bharatpur and at Mandalgarh in Bhilwara, 8 cm at Kotdi of Bhilwara and 7 cm in Kota and at Jawaja in Ajmer, the weather bulletin showed.?

On Saturday, Ganganagar at 43.9 degrees Celsius was the hottest place in west Rajasthan, while Fatehpur was the hottest in the east at 41.3 degrees Celsius, weather data showed.

Churu recorded a high of 42.2 degrees Celsius, followed by ?42.1 degrees Celsius at Sangaria in Hanumangarh, and 41 ?degrees Celsius in Bikaner.

Sirohi recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 21.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday.
