Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Sunday received death threat calls from a man who is imprisoned in Begalvi, Karnataka. The call was traced to a man named Jayesh Kantha by the Nagpur Police, according to a report by India Today.

Three calls were received on the landline number of Nitin Gadkari's Public Relations office in the Khamla area in Maharashtra between 11.25 am to 12.30 pm, following which security was strengthened at the home and office of the Nagpur MP who belongs to the BJP.
The man claiming to be a member of the Dawood Ibrahim gang made threatening calls and demanded Rs 100 crore, police said.?Three calls were received on the landline number of Gadkari's Public Relations office in the Khamla area between 11.25 am to 12.30 pm, following which security was strengthened at the home and office of the Nagpur MP who belongs to BJP.
“Union Minister Nitin Gadkari was being threatened from jail. The caller is a notorious gangster and murder accused Jayesh Kantha, who is imprisoned in Belagavi jail. He threatened Gadkari's office by using the phone illegally inside the jail,” Amitesh Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Nagpur, said.
A team of Nagpur Police has left for investigation seeking production remand of the man.?
He threatened to harm the minister with a bomb if his demand was not met and?the caller also shared his mobile number and the address in Karnataka where he said the money must be sent.
