Kejriwal Is To Be Blamed For Delhi Services Bill, Lashes Congress Leader Sandeep Dikshit
Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit in a video message said that the Delhi government along with the central government were running smoothly together but after Arvind Kejriwal came to power, his constant power tussle with the Centre has led up to the introduction of the Delhi Services Bill.
The Delhi Services Bill was passed by the Rajya Sabha on Monday with 131 votes in support of it.?
Dikshit in a video message spoke elaborately about Kejriwal's fault and landed the Delhi government to this point where it lost control of services and he said that Kejriwal misused politics for his own agenda and created a situation of this sort.?
According to ANI, Dikshit said in Hindi, "There was a time when both the Centre and previous governments in Delhi had mutual control over services in Delhi. Everything was running smoothly. But unfortunately, since Arvind Kejriwal assumed office in 2014, he indulged in politics. He got embroiled in a power tussle with the Centre to secure his political interests using foul means. This is why the Centre came up with this Bill. Otherwise, there was no need for such a Bill in Delhi."
Dikshit also said that Kejriwal will resort to politics instead of working with the people of Delhi with the passage of the bill.?
Further, he said, "Now, I can only hope Arvind Kejriwal will work for the development of the city for the rest of his term. However, it's quite likely that he will resort to politics and issue more political statements following the passage of the draft legislation on services in the national capital."
Sandeep Dikshit has earlier said that Kejriwal fooled the people of Delhi before the bill's introduction by Home Minister Amit Shah in the Rajya Sabha on Monday.
In the Parliament, while the bill was passed, Congress supported Aam Aadmi Party as the two have come together as a part of the opposition alliance, INDIA.?
An Ordinance was issued by the Centre which overturned a Supreme Court judgment vesting control of services in the AAP government.
The Ordinance for the control of services was replaced by the National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023, which was approved by the Lok Sabha last week.
The bill gave the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi responsibility over Group A services in Delhi, including decisions about appointments, transfers, and postings, and was approved by the Upper House on Monday.
After a vote in which 102 lawmakers opposed the legislation and 131 supported it, the bill was passed.
