Himachal Pradesh Heavy Rains: IMD Issues Orange Alert, Schools And Colleges Closed Today

In light of?the current situation, the Sub Division Magistrate, Dharamshala, issued an order stating that all educational institutions at Dharamshala in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh would?remain closed today. It has also been told that all educational institutions and Anganwadis in Shimla district will be closed on the 23rd and 24th of August.

Predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall from 22-24 August, the India Meteorological Department (IMD)?has issued an orange alert?at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh. According to the weather office, heavy to very heavy rainfall?accompanied by thunderstorms, is likely to cover places including of Kangra, Chamba, Hamirpur, Mandi Bilaspur, Solan, Shimla, and Kullu today.
