The differences between the BRS government in Telangana and Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan came to the fore on Thursday with a state minister responding to certain comments of the latter over Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Governor Should Try To Help Farmers Instead Of Commenting On Govt, Says Telangana Minister
State Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar said the Governor should try to help farmers who are facing difficulties following unseasonal rains instead of commenting, among others, that the CM is not accessible.
State Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar said the Governor should try to help farmers who are facing difficulties following unseasonal rains instead of commenting, among others, that the CM is not accessible.
Being the Governor of Telangana, she is also part of the government, he said.
"It is painful if the Governor talks politics without saying even a word (about farmers). Instead of saying that Raj Bhavan and Secretariat are not coming together, instead of saying that KCR is not giving appointment, she should represent to Modi that Telangana farming community is facing difficulties due to unseasonal rains," he told media.?
He said the Governor should urge the Centre to help the farmers.?
The minister's statement comes a day after the governor clarified that she was not invited to the recent inauguration of the state's new Secretariat.?
In her speech at an event here, she had termed as 'unfortunate' Raj Bhavan and Pragati Bhavan, the camp office-cum-official residence of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, not coming together.?
"We can meet the heads of other countries. But, we cannot meet the head of this state. It is very unfortunate, sometimes. We cannot come closer also.. But, very unfortunate. I should not talk politics. But, Raj Bhavan, Pragati Bhavan cannot come closer," she had said.?
The Raj Bhavan had in a communique stated that "no invitation whatsoever" had been sent to the Governor to attend the inauguration of the state's new Secretariat complex, which it said was the precise reason for her not attending the event.?
The new Telangana Secretariat was inaugurated on April 30.
Ties between Raj Bhavan and the BRS government have not been cordial and Soundararajan had earlier complained of protocol not being followed during her visits to the districts.
