First Year IIT Powai Student Dies By Suicide

A case of accidental death has been registered by the Powai Police who state that the incident took place at around One pm on January 12.

A first-year IIT Powai student died of suicide on Sunday afternoon according to police.

As per an Indian Express report, the student has been identified as 18-year-old Darshan Solanki, an Ahmedabad native who joined the college three and half months ago and was pursuing Bachelor in Technology.

A case of accidental death has been registered by the Powai Police who state that the incident took place at around One?pm on January 12.

A police officer was quoted saying, “There is no foul play in the incident. We are recording statements of his roommates and are trying to ascertain the reason.”
