Breasts, too, have eyes
That hardly open, copper brown
Eyes Walking On Manipur Streets
Durga Prasad Panda writes a poem on Manipur.
And protruded round.
Like the eyes of a newborn
Baby, they can’t tolerate
Too much of daylight.
If they had their ways
They would have seen the entire world
In a blink. Instead, like Gandhari,
They chose a self-imposed blindness.
May be it is better this way. Because
Whenever breasts open their fiery eyes
As they did, walking naked
In broad daylight on the streets
?Of Manipur, the whole of mankind
?Simply burns into ashes
