Delhi Commission For Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal Visits Injured Manipur BJP MLA

During her visit, she urged the BJP Chief, J P Nadda, to extend support and financial assistance to the lawmaker, who was attacked amid the ongoing ethnic strife in Manipur.

Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Chairperson, Swati Maliwal, visited Manipur's BJP MLA, Vungzagin Valte, who is currently undergoing medical treatment in Delhi. Maliwal has also made an appeal to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief, J P Nadda, to visit the lawmaker. Additionally, she urged the party leader to extend financial assistance to Valte from the party's funds.

In a gesture of support and concern, the Chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, Swati Maliwal, made a visit to Manipur's BJP MLA, Vungzagin Valte, who is currently receiving medical treatment in Delhi. Maliwal expressed her solidarity with the injured MLA, who was a victim of a brutal attack during the ethnic strife that has engulfed Manipur since May 3.

Sharing her intentions and appeals, Maliwal took to Twitter, posting a copy of her letter addressed to the BJP Chief, J P Nadda. In the letter, she requested Nadda to visit Valte "at the earliest," underscoring the importance of the party's support in such difficult times, as reported by PTI.?

Moreover, Maliwal empathetically addressed the financial burden faced by the MLA's family due to ongoing medical treatment. In her letter to Nadda, she earnestly appealed for financial assistance from the party's funds to aid in Valte's treatment and recovery.

The Manipur government spokesperson and Information and Public Relations Minister, Sapam Rajan, had recently dismissed media reports claiming negligence by the state government in providing medical care to Valte. Rajan asserted that the government had taken prompt measures to care for the injured MLA and ensured regular updates on his health condition even after his discharge from the hospital. High-ranking BJP officials, including state president Sarda Devi and minister Th Basanta Singh, had also visited Valte during his hospitalization in Delhi.

Ethnic violence in Manipur has escalated tensions between the Meitei community, primarily situated in the Imphal valley, and the Kukis residing in the hills. The conflict revolves around identity issues, resulting in a tragic loss of over 160 lives so far.
