An unattended bag at N Block, Connaught Place sparked a bomb scare on Saturday. As per reports, the area has been cordoned off and a team from Delhi Police are on the spot.
As per reports, the area had been cordoned off and the police conducted an investigation into the matter.
"The unattended bag at N Block of Connaught Place was checked and nothing suspicious was found inside it," said stated Delhi Police.
Multiple Bomb Scares In Delhi
This bomb scare comes a day after the Delhi Police and National Security Guards conducted mock drills across the national capital. The drills were conducted at IGI airport, Rajiv Chowk Metro Station and DPS RK Puram on Friday and earlier today.
This mock drill was conducted days after nearly 200 schools across Delhi-NCR received hoax bomb threats.
On Friday, several drills were also held at the Parliament building, Jhandewalan Temple, Hyderabad House and other places across the capital.
Over 200 Schools Get Hoax Bomb Threats
On Wednesday, around 200 schools across Delhi-NCR regions received bomb threat emails claiming explosives had been planted on the school premises.
Following the threats, bomb squads were called in to various schools and students were dispersed as soon as possible. The bomb threats started at two schools and then later spread over to nearly 200 schools across the capital, causing panic amongst parents and guardians.
The police, however, declared that nothing suspicious was found and stated that the threats were a "hoax".
The initial probe into the threats suspected a "deeper conspiracy" by terror groups during the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
