The slain gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmad’s letter written before his killing is being dispatched to Chief Justice of India and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, the report said.
Atiq Ahmad’s Last Letter Being Dispatched To CJI, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath: Gangster’s Lawyer
Gangster Atiq Ahmad’s lawyer Vijay Mishra said his client had said that if there were any mishap or if he was murdered, the letter in the sealed envelope should be sent to CJIand UP CM.
According to the report in NDTV, the late gangster Atiq Ahmad’s lawyer has said the letter is being dispatched to the CJI and CM, since he had passed the instructions well before his killing and had asked to dispatch it in case he is murdered or killed.?
"That letter in a sealed envelope is neither with me nor sent by me. It is kept somewhere else and being sent by some other person. I don't know the contents of the letter," the report quoted gangster’s lawyer Vijay Mishra as having said.
Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf were killed in an audacious attack by three men posing as journalists amid security and media glare on Saturday night, when they were being taken to a Prayagraj hospital in Uttar Pradesh for a medical check up.
"Atiq Ahmad had said that if there were any mishap or if he was murdered, the letter in the sealed envelope should be sent to the chief justice of India and Uttar Pradesh chief minister," the report quoted the gangster’s lawyer Mishra as having said.
Earlier, the last rites of Ahmad's son Asad, who was gunned down in a police encounter in Jhansi on April 13, were performed just hours before the shooting.
Both Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf were brought to Prayagraj from Gujarat and Bareilly prisons for interrogation in connection with the killing of Umesh Pal and his two police security guards earlier this year.
Ahmad had moved the Supreme Court for protection, claiming that he and his family have been falsely implicated in the Umesh Pal murder case and he might be killed in a fake encounter by the Uttar Pradesh Police.
