Army Vehicles Attacked In J&K's Poonch, Security Forces Launch Search Operation

Some terrorists attacked army vehicles in Poonch of Jammu and Kashmir and reportedly the Indian soldiers have fired back at them.

As per media reports the altercation happened in the Khanetar area of Poonch district on Friday.

There was no loss of life in the attack, reportedly.

The security forces have begun a search operation in the area for further investigation.

Chief of Army Staff Gen Manoj Pande on Thursday stated that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri-Poonch region is a matter of "concern" during a press conference in New Delhi.?Some measures, including increasing troop deployment, strengthening intelligence capabilities?and engaging with local residents, were being initiated to curb terrorist activities in the area, he added.

According to PTI, three civilians were killed in Poonch last month allegedly during questioning by the Army in connection with an ambush of Army personnel by militants. Four Army soldiers were killed in the ambush.
