The Los Angeles Rams have released running back Darrell Henderson, 26, for the second time in two seasons. The Rams dropped Henderson on Tuesday after a four-game return to the team with which he won the Super Bowl two seasons ago. Kyren Williams, the Rams' starting running back for the current season, is anticipated to make a comeback after missing four games due to a sprained ankle, and is set to play against Arizona on Sunday.?

Over the past four games with the Rams (4-6), Henderson,?rushed for 112 yards and scored two touchdowns on 46 carries. He is?a third-round pick by the team in 2019 NFL Draft.?

Stepping back into the injury-depleted Rams' lineup last month, he also made an impact in the passing game, catching 10 passes for 103 yards.

In the Rams' recent comeback victory against Seattle, Henderson found the end zone, but his performance was overshadowed by Royce Freeman, who has accumulated 215 rushing yards this season. Freeman seems to be securing his role as a backup behind Kyren Williams, the Rams' leading rusher with 456 yards and six touchdowns in the first six games of the season.

After initially being waived by the Rams on Nov. 22, 2022, following 10 games in his fourth NFL season, Henderson was out of the league until the Rams brought him back last month.

Los Angeles will look to improve on the ground in the second half of the campaign, with the team sitting 20th in the NFL at an average of 103 yards per game on the ground.
