Moscow-Goa Flight Diverted To Uzbekistan Following Bomb Threat

A Goa-bound Chartered Flight from Russia's Moscow was diverted to Uzbekistan following a bomb threat in the wee hours of Saturday. The flight,?AZV2463, was supposed to land at Dabolin Airport in Goa at 4:15 am but it was diverted before entering Indian airspace.

"An Azur Air chartered flight from Russia’s Perm International Airport to Goa received a security threat. Following this, the flight was diverted to Uzbekistan. A total of 238 passengers, including 2 infants, and 7 crew are onboard," airport sources said.

According to a report by PTI, an official said, "It was diverted after an email was received at 12.30 am by the Dabolim airport director that mentioned about a bomb being planted on the plane."

The incident occurred nearly two weeks after a Moscow-to-Goa flight made an emergency landing at Gujarat's Jamnagar airport following a bomb threat.?After the flight made its landing, the passengers were deplaned and a bomb squad, and fire brigade teams reached the spot, along with a CISF team, the collector and the superintendent of the police for a security check. However, the National Security Guard did not find anything suspicious.?
