‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes’ is expected to enthrall fans once more as it gets ready to premiere in theaters on November 17. This new film promises to be a cinematic classic owing to ?its rich history of dystopian intrigue and memorable characters.?
With its time travel to the 10th Hunger Games, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes gives us a glimpse of a youthful Coriolanus Snow before he completely embraced his villainous nature. To put things in perspective, the first film in The Hunger Games trilogy takes place at the 74th Hunger Games, whereas this prequel film is largely set 64 years earlier.
According to the official synopsis, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes tells the tale of a young Coriolanus (Tom Blyth). Coriolanus ?represents the final hope for his decreasing lineage, the once-proud Snow family, which has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. In order to protect his job, Snow is grudgingly given the responsibility of teaching Lucy Grey Baird (Rachel Zegler), a tribute from the underdeveloped District 12. But as the audience in Panem is won over by Lucy Gray's captivating appeal, Snow sees a chance to change their fates. Snow links up with Lucy Grey to change the odds in their favor as everything he has worked for hangs in the balance.?
Snow begins a race against time to survive and decide whether he will ultimately emerge as a songbird or a snake in a battle against his own instincts for good and evil. Francis Lawrence is the director of the prequel. Tom Blyth, Rachel Zegler, Peter Dinklage, Hunter Schafer, Josh Andrés Rivera, Jason Schwartzman, and Viola Davis are the leading actors in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes is ?slated to exclusively release in theaters alongside Next Goal Wins, a sports comedy from Taika Waititi, Trolls Band Together, a DreamWorks animated sequel, and Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving.
