This bypolls of 9 seats in UP was a litmus test for the ruling BJP in the state after their disappointing performance during the Lok Sabha polls. But the party was able to redeem itself after it bagged six seats and their ally RLD also won one seat. The Samajwadi Party who saw a sudden rise in people's trust with their party at the Lok Sabha only managed to win two seats this time.
Bypolls were conducted in other states including Punjab, Rajasthan, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya and Uttarakhand. Congress won all three seats in Karnataka and Aam Aadmi Party won three out of four seats in Punjab. Bharatiya Janata Party scored well in Rajasthan, Assam and Uttarakhand.
Bypoll Results 2024 LIVE: Counting Of Votes Scheduled For Today
The Election Commission of India organized the bypolls for 48 assembly constituencies and two parliamentary seats in two phases. Voting for 31 assembly constituencies and the Wayanad parliamentary seat was scheduled for November 13. While, the remaining 14 assembly seats and the Nanded parliamentary seat were held on November 20.

Bypoll Results 2024 LIVE:?November 13 Bypolls Voter Turnout
Bypolls were held in 31 assembly constituencies across 10 states along with Wayanad lok sabha constituency. The spotlight was on Wayanad as Priyanka Gandhi made her electoral debut. Wayanad recorded a turnout of 64.27%. In West Bengal, Taldangra recorded the highest turnout at 75.20%, while Channapatna recorded the highest turnout with 84.26% in Karnataka.
Chhattisgarh's Raipur city recorded a turnout of 46.43%, Ramgargh's 71.45% turnout was the highest in Rajasthan, MP's Vijaypur recorded 75.27% (highest among two seats), and Gujarat's Vav recorded a turnout of 68.01%.
Bypoll Results 2024 LIVE: Voter Turnout On November 20
Bypolls were held in 15 constituencies across UP, Punjab, Kerala, and Uttarakhand on November 20. In UP, Kundarki recorded the highest voter turnout with 57.32%, and in Punjab, the turnout was highest in Gidderbaha with 78.10% till 5 pm. Uttarakhand's Kedarnath recorded 56.78% and Kerala's Palakkad recorded a turnout of 62.25%.
Nanded, a parliamentary constituency, recorded a voter turnout of 67.81%.

West Bengal Bypolls: TMC Leads In All 6 Bypoll Seats Despite RG Kar Protests?
Ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidates have taken an unassailable lead in the bypolls held in the six assembly constituencies in West Bengal, with counting underway today. These results are drawing significant attention, especially in light of the ongoing protests related to the RG Kar Medical College incident, which has sparked public outcry in the state.
In Sitai, a Scheduled Caste (SC) constituency, TMC's Sangita Roy is leading by 1,22,342 votes, 93,208 more than her nearest rival, Dipak Kumar Ray of the BJP, who has so far secured 29,134 votes.
In Madarihat, a Scheduled Tribe (ST) seat, TMC's Jayprakash Toppo is leading by 66,315 votes, ahead of BJP's Rahul Lohar, who has received 25,165 votes. The seat was won by the BJP in the 2021 assembly polls was presumably a BJP stronghold.
In Naihati, TMC's Sanat Dey has bagged 71,759 votes against BJP's Rupak Mitra's 26,785.
In Haroa, TMC's SK Rabiul Islam has garnered 91,369 votes, against his rival, Piyarul Islam of the All India Secular Front, who is trailing with 14,211 votes.
TMC's Sujoy Hazra is leading in Medinipur with 65,168 votes, 21,032 more than BJP's Subhajit Roy (Bunty), who has secured 44,136 votes.
In Taldangra, TMC's Falguni Singhababu has polled 43,979 votes, 16,101 more than BJP's Ananya Roy Chakraborty, who has received 27,878 votes.
UP Bye Election Results: BJP's Ramveer Singh Leads In Kundarki, A Muslim-Dominated Seat
ECI trends at 12:20pm show BJP’s Ramveer Singh leading in Kundarki (Moradabad) by roughly 74,000 votes. The Muslim-dominated seat previously held by SP’s Zia Ur Rehman Barq (now Sambhal MP) has only been won once by BJP in 1993.
Mohammad Rizwan of the Samajwadi Party, Chand Babu of the Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram), Mohammad Varish of the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen, and Rafatulla of the Bahujan Samaj Party are all trailing in the Kundarki Assembly Constituency.
Kerala Bypoll Results: Cong-Led UDF Leads In Palakkad
Congress-led UDF has taken a comfortable lead of more than 10,000 votes against the BJP-led NDA which was ahead in the earlier rounds in the Palakkad Assembly bypoll as the counting of votes commenced on Saturday.
Congress candidate Rahul Mamkootathil is leading with 10,239 votes. He got 40,126 votes and BJP candidate C Krishnakumar secured 29,887 votes after nine out of 14 rounds of the counting, according to the Election Commission of India.

Uttar Pradesh: Clashes Broke Out In Phulpur Amid Bypoll Vote Counting
Clashes broke out between agents of BJP and Bahujan Samaj Party agents inside a counting centre in Phulpur over alleged irregularities in counting.
Prayagraj DM Ravindra Kumar Mandar who reached the spot told PTI, "Around 20 rounds of counting have concluded. An argument happened between election agents of BSP candidate Anoop Kumar Singh and BJP candidate Deepak Patel over hooting, this led to a scuffle. We immediately brought the situation under control, the counting has resumed now. Such behaviour inside a counting hall is an unpardonable crime and we will act tough on this."

In Uttarakhand's sole bypoll seat Kedarnath, Asha Nautiiyal of the Bharatiya Janata Party won with a gain of 5,622 votes, while Manoj Rawat of the Indian National Congress and Tribhuwan Singh, an Independent candidate lost.
Karnataka Bypolls: CP Yogeeshwara Attacks Opponent JD(S) Candidate After Big Win?
C P Yogeeshwara who won the Channapatna assembly by-poll on the Congress ticket said the JD(S) is breathing its last following the defeat of his opponent Nikhil Kumaraswamy. He said the Channapatna by-poll was about the existence of JD(S) for which Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy bet on Nikhil.
Nikhil, the son of Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy and grandson of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, was contesting the election on the JD(S) ticket as part of BJP led NDA.
He also said that people have delivered a clear message that the JD(S)-BJP alliance will not work.

UP Bypoll Results:?BJP Wins Three Assembly Seats, SP Bags Two
The BJP won Ghaziabad, Khair and Phulpur assembly seats while the Samajwadi Party bagged Sishamau and Karhal in the Uttar Pradesh bypolls, results of which were announced on Saturday.
The ruling BJP is leading in three of the nine seats for which bypolls were held on November 20 and its ally RLD is ahead in one, according to the Election Commission (EC).
BJP's Phulpur candidate Deepak Patel defeated his nearest rival and Samajwadi Party (SP) nominee Md Mujtaba Siddiqui by a margin of 11,305 votes. Patel got a total of 78,289 votes, the EC website showed.
In Ghaziabad, BJP's Sanjeev Sharma defeated his nearest rival and SP candidate Singh Raj Jatav by a margin of 69,351 votes. Sharma got a total of 96,946 votes.
In Khair, BJP's Surender Diler got 1,00,181 votes and defeated SP's Charu Kain by a margin of 38,393 votes.
The SP retained Sishamau and Karhal assembly seats, according to the EC.
In Karhal, SP's Tej Pratap Yadav defeated BJP's Anujesh Pratap Singh by a margin of 14,725 votes. Yadav got a total of 1,04,304 votes.
In Sishamau, SP's Naseem Solanki defeated BJP's Suresh Awasthi by 8,564 votes. Solanki secured 69,714 votes while Awasthi got 61,150. The Bahujan Samaj Party's (BSP) Virendra Kumar was a distant third with 1,410 votes.
After SP's rise in Lok Sabha election few months back, BJP tried hard to redeem itself in the bypolls.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra comfortably cruised to her maiden electoral win from the Wayanad seat, surpassing the 3.64-lakh lead achieved by her brother Rahul Gandhi in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls earlier this year.
Priyanka won Wayanad constituency by a margin of over 4.1 lakh votes against LDF candidate, CPI's Sathyan Mokeri.

After disappointing results in Lok Sabha results earlier this year, the BJP has won six seats while its ally RLD clinched one of the nine assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh where bypolls were held on November 20.
The Samajwadi Party (SP) who performed better than expected during the last elections have only been able to secure the remaining two seats - Sishamau and Karhal.
The BJP’s winning candidates included Sanjeev Sharma (Ghaziabad), Surender Diler (Khair), Deepak Patel (Phulpur), Dharmraj Nishad (Katehari), Ramveer Singh (Kundarki) and Suchismita Maurya (Majhawan).
