Filmmaker Milan Luthria is making his OTT directorial debut with the series 'Sultan Of Delhi'. He has also made his debut as a lyricist for the soothing Sufi?song titled 'Saaqiya'. It is crooned by none other than singer Javed Ali. The Qawali song oozes?the 60s charm and it strikes a chord with your hearts. Music of the soulful track has been composed by Sangeet and Siddharth Haldipur, Ahead of the release of the track, we had a conversation with Javed Ali where he spoke about the song, his love for Sufi music and a lot more.?

Tell us about your new song from 'Sultan?of Delhi'. Does it come with some message? And what is the impact that it will create on the series?

It's a very important song because Milan sir has written it with a lot of interest. And of course, he has a very unique style as a director and a filmmaker. So, this song will be very impactful. And we have made?this song with a lot of intensity and?the composition of this song is very good. Overall, this song is very lively. I can feel it. So, I hope people will like this song.?

After how many years have you sung a Qawali and how does it feel?

Actually, I sang Qawali in 'Rockstar'. It was a Sufi song. But Sufi and Qawali have a similar combination. So, after that, I sang a song in 'D-Day' for Shankar Ahsaan. I am singing this song after a long time. In fact, I get a lot of offers for singles. But I don't sing a lot of Qawali songs in singles. Because this is a web series and it is for a film. So, I sang it. And it was very good.

Do you feel there is any major difference between singles and film songs? Which one do you enjoy the most?

Both. The difference is that the songs of films are based on the situation and the film star.?There is a lot of demand for the situation. So, you have to present it according to the character. If you talk about singles, you can give it your own colour as you want. So, both have their own style. But I like both very much.

You have mastered the art of Sufi, Qawali and other forms. Which form is the closest to your heart?

I like Sufi a lot. Qawali and Sufi are the same. I also like romantic music.
