Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani made a comeback as a director with 'Dunki' after a hiatus of five years.?The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu in pivotal roles. Everyone has been raved for their performances especially Vicky was raved for his stellar act. In an interview, Rajkumar Hirani revealed that initially, he didn't want to cast Vicky in 'Dunki'. As per a report in Pinkvilla, Rajkumar?Hirani once told Vicky's father, action director Sham Kaushal, that there is a very special role in Dunki that he would have offered to Vicky. But he won't because it's not the lead.?

The 'Sam Bahadur' actor called the 'Sanju' director the same evening and said, 'I'm willing to play any role in your film. No one else will do it but me'.?

Produced by SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment, Dunki was released?worldwide on December 21. The film also stars?Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar and Anil Grover in pivotal roles.?

On its second Saturday, on Day 10, 'Dunki' saw a slight growth in its collection as it minted Rs 9.25 crore. So, the total collection now stands at Rs 176.47 crore at the box office.?

Rajkumar Hirani is happy with the response 'Dunki' has been receiving.?He told PTI in an interview, "Of course, commercial success matters to me but I try not focus on it at all because the moment you start focusing on it, then you start colouring the kind of film you want to make...''

He added, "I take three or four years to make a film. This time I took five years to make a story. It should be like... let me make this film whatever the fate of the film is. Sometimes you will get a universal audience, sometimes you will get an audience which is in smaller pockets. India is a massive country and there will be all kinds of audiences liking all kinds of films''.
