Australia's Ashleigh Gardner was at her best against the Delhi Capitals, putting on an all-round show to help her side stay alive in WPL with a 11-run win. After being put into bat first, Gujarat Giants folded for a below-par score of 148, but managed to defend the total by dismissing Capitals for 136 in 18.4 overs. Gardner starred with the bat first, smashing a 33-ball 51, scoring her first fifty of the tournament. Later, she took 2 wickets while conceding just 19 runs in 3.4 overs to bring her team home. Laura Wolvaardt, who was playing only in her second WPL match, too, scored a half-century, putting an 81-run partnership with Gardner. For the Meg Lanning-led side, wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals with Marizanne Kapp registering the highest score of 36. In their previous match, Capitals had beaten Giants comfortably by 10 wickets.
