This marks Bopanna’s first season in the league, and he expressed his appreciation for the fast-paced 25-point format. “It's an exciting format and keeps everyone on their toes since every point matters. I am enjoying playing TPL,” he said.
Bopanna also reflected on playing in Mumbai after a long time, revisiting the Cricket Club of India courts where he played ATP Finals earlier in his career. “2007 was the last time I played in Mumbai, and I love playing here,” he shared.
At Rajasthan Rangers, Bopanna is reunited with Leander Paes, who is mentoring the team. Speaking about Paes, Bopanna said, “He's been my teammate for a long time, and he brings a wealth of experience. It’s great to be part of this team.”
Bopanna praised the young talent in the league, particularly Karan Singh of Hyderabad Strikers. “Karan is a promising talent. We need more support from sponsors and the federation to encourage players like him,” he remarked.
Commenting on the league’s growth over the years, Bopanna said, “The TPL is growing every year. Kunal Thakkur and Mrunal Jain have done a commendable job in bringing players together in a competitive and enjoyable format.”
