India's juggernaut run began with a dominant 13-1 victory over Bangladesh in their opening match with Mumtaz Khan scoring 4 goals. They then thrashed Malaysia 5-0 with the help of Deepika's hatrick. But, India's winning streak was halted when China handed them a narrow 2-1 defeat.
On the other hand, thailand kicked off their campaign with a 2-1 win over Bangladesh but then faltered badly in their second and third matches, suffering 0-8 and 0-3 defeats to China and Malaysia, respectively.

Format:
The tournament is divided into two pools of 5 teams each: Bangladesh, China, India, Malaysia, and Thailand in Pool A; Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Sri Lanka and Chinese Taipei in Pool B.
During the pool stage, each team will play the other four teams once and the top two teams will qualify for the semi-finals, while the teams in third and fourth positions will face off in the 5-8 place classification match.
The four semi-finalists and the fifth-place team will qualify for the FIH Hockey Women's Junior World Cup 2025, to be played in Chile.
In Pool A, China lead the standings with 9 points, followed by India in second with 6 points. Malaysia sit third, also with 6 points, but trailing India on goal difference.
