Unrest In South Korea: Ex-Defence Minister's Suicide Attempt And Protests

Former South Korean Defence Minister Kim Yong-hyun attempted suicide while in custody after being arrested in connection with the controversial martial law decree. He survived the attempt and is now in stable condition, the Associated Press reported.

MIT Faces Backlash For Suspending Indian-Origin Student For Pro-Palestine Essay

Prahlad Iyengar, an India-origin PhD student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US has been allegedly suspended for writing a pro-Palestinian essay.

Iyengar wrote an article titled "On Pacifism" for the October issue of the student-run magazine Written Revolution. As per MIT Dean of Student Life David Warren Randall, the article featured imagery and language that “could be interpreted as a call for more violent or destructive forms of protest at MIT." Law Ministry Comments On Bengaluru Techie's Suicide

The body of 34-year-old Bengaluru-based techie Atul Subhash was discovered in his home in the Manjunath Layout area. The 24-page-long suicide note included extensive details of years of emotional distress from marital issues, multiple cases filed against him, and harassment by his wife, and her relatives, police said.

Delhi Records Coldest Day Yet As Air Quality Deteriorates

With the mercury dipping many notches below normal, the national capital recorded the coldest day of the season on Wednesday. The minimum temperature dropped to 4.9 degrees Celsius - five degrees below the normal for this time of year.
